Child deaths are reviewed by the CDOP in clusters and will highlight themes annually.
 A reviewing system for clusters set up and requires implementation.
 Clusters of child deaths will be reviewed.

 Pan-Dorset CDOP
 Public Health messages and preventable factors will be identified and actioned.
The CDOP will be adequately resourced with a Project Manager and Administrator
 Permanent posts to be advertised.
 Post holders will be able to ensure the CDOP fulfils its requirements.
 June 2009
 Pan-Dorset CDOP Professionals will be able to engage in the CDOP function, moving it forward, therefore improving the morbidity whenever there is potential to do so.
Rapid response home visits will be achieved.
 To ensure that staff are able to fulfil this action.
 Home visits will have occurred and the investigative process for understanding why a child has died will be in place.
 June 2009
 Pan-Dorset CDOP Will enable preventable deaths to be identified and lessons learnt, reducing risks to children, empowering families to be protective and ensuring professionals target resources and public health messages where they will be most effective.
Multi-agency staff will be aware and understand their function in the child death processes.
 Training to be available for all staff, generic and role specific.
 A rolling programme of training will be available.
