PAN-DORSET SAFEGUARDING THROUGH TRAINING GROUP

1. Key areas of responsibility

• To co-ordinate, promote and quality assure training opportunities to meet local needs for safeguarding.
• To develop a workforce strategy and training plan in line with the requirements of the DSCB and LSCB.
• Take forward learning and development within Dorset informed by legislation, government guidance and good practice requirements; to include the evaluation of the effectiveness of single and multi-agency training.
• Develop policies for safeguarding regarding training of people working with children, or in services affecting the safety and welfare of children.
• Ensure learning from Serious Case Reviews/Case Audits is routinely incorporated within training and that the awareness of issues is appropriately raised.
